Stop and Honk to Save Our School
The parents and children at Arbor Heights Elementary are showing their spunk with numerous homemade signs. Arbor Heights is a community with HEART! And Arbor Heights Elementary is at the heart of it all! The Arbor Heights Community meeting tonight should be a good reflection of how passionate the Community is. Swing by the Arbor Heights Elementary school at 7:00 PM tonight (Dec. 2) and join the "standing room only" meeting, where parents, teachers and neighbors strategize how to save our school!
Don't forget to HONK!

A special PTSA/Community Meeting Tuesday, December 2nd at 7 pm
December 1, 2008
Dear Arbor Heights Parents,
The Seattle School District has proposed that the Arbor Heights Elementary program be eliminated and be replaced by Pathfinder K-8. The proposal moves Pathfinder K-8 into the Arbor Heights building and reassigns current Arbor Heights students to other West Seattle South Cluster Schools – Roxhill, Sanislo, Highland Park, Gatewood, Concord or West Seattle Elementary (formerly High Point).
Because this action affects everyone at Arbor Heights, the PTSA is holding a special PTSA/Community Meeting Tuesday, December 2nd at 7 pm in the Arbor Heights cafeteria to discuss this issue. Free childcare will be provided.
The Seattle School Board will be holding a Board Meeting to discuss school closures on Wednesday, December 3rd from 6-8 pm at the John Stanford Center for Educational Excellence, 2445 3rd Avenue South. This meeting is open to the public.
The Seattle School Board will hold a Community Workshop on Thursday, December 4th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., also at the John Stanford Center. A full schedule of public meetings may be found at the School District’s website http://www.seattleschools.org/.
The Seattle Schools Superintendent is scheduled to make her final recommendation on Tuesday, January 6. The School Board is scheduled to vote on the final recommendations on January 29, 2009.
